Waffen-SS Fallschirmjager:

Fallschirmjäger-Bluse, SS-Fallschirmjäger Bataillon 500/600:

Following the development of the Fallschirmjäger branch of the Waffen-SS with Bataillon 500 with the raising of the additional Bataillon 600 uniform items began to switch from the initial Luftwaffe supply sources to that of SS-Beklidungswerke origin with SS markings. Historical photo (right) shows the use of the Luftwaffe Splinter camouflage pattern Fallschirmjäger-Bluse or (jump smock as it is commonly known by collectors) with BEVO SS sleeve eagle.

Historically documented SS-Fallschirmjäger helmets have also surfaced in the last 10 years and examples of unissued Fj.-Bluse produced from the final ‘dot’ pattern SS camouflage were found at the warehouses at Dachau by liberating US troops.

One of these was on display for years at the Bastogne Museum.  With the sleeve eagle in place on the last LW smocks used by SS-Falschirmjäger and photo evidence of all other uniforms worn showing sleeve eagle use and none showing LW style right upper chest mounting it follows the eagle would be on the sleeve as well on the SS pattern camo Fj.-Bluse. Both these Fallschirmjäger-Bluse are near mint condition.

Late pattern officers and enlisted Einheitzfeldmütz are shown.

SS-Fallschirmjager Rare Jump Smock in 44-dot camouflage:

SS-Fallschirmjager, 44-dot camouflage jacket:

It appears that at least some of the Fallschirmjager wore the HBT/4-pocket cut jacket as well, and adding the insignia was always popular, if not regulation.
