U.S. Navy Corpsmen of WWII

Corpsman PO-2, Blue Jumper, WW2:

Corpsmen were issued these jackets of course when in cold places. This Sailor served in four different Campaigns, all in the Pacific. Any Marine can tell you that as much as they hate shots, there are few people as beloved as their corpsmen. The bond here is as tight as it gets; they kept each other alive and needed each other’s help.

Winter P-Coat:

Another option.

U.S. Navy Corpsman, Pacific, WWII:

And this was their work suit.

Corpsman, Mustard Shirt:

The blouse is wool, and for cooler climates, but uniforms have a way of moving around, Marines and Corpsman don’t like a lot of bling on their uniforms.

Note, the bottom 2 pictures are of the infamous unit 3 Bags of the Corpsman, a wonderful piece of kit, but was a target for the Japanese shooting at him. These were for use in the field, and the uniform shown is not, I think a battle uniform, especially with the garrison cover, but behind the lines, and on post they were a common site at pill time and the like.
